Emily Miller


Emily Miller has over four decades of experience in small business development and private sector strategy.  She has worked in 31 countries, mostly in Africa, in agricultural market development and women’s empowerment within market systems.

A graduate of the University of Denver (BA in Social Sciences, MA in Economics), Emily became engaged in technology-based startups in New Mexico under an innovative state-funded program to commercialize new technologies emerging from universities and national laboratories.  During this time, Emily helped to establish a Business Advisory Group while serving as an active member of the New Mexico Entrepreneurial Network.

Emily served as the Director of the Santa Fe Small Business Development Center for four years and provided support to SBDC clients in the areas of startup and expansion planning, marketing, and operations in addition to instructing courses on business planning at the Santa Fe Community College. 

Emily works as a freelance consultant to development donors and implementing partners including the United States Agency for International Development and the UK Department for International Development.  Based in the Roaring Fork Valley, she enjoys her free time with family and friends, getting outdoors, reading, and walks with her dog Mic.
