May 2, 2018: Small Business Roundtable Discussion | Glenwood Springs, CO

The Northwest SBDC and Governor's Small Business Advisory Council are hosting a Small Business Roundtable Discussion with Glenwood Springs small business owners.  This meeting intends to facilitate a discussion around Glenwood Springs' the vibrancy of small business climate, including resources currently available to entrepreneurs, as well as where opportunities for improvement may exist.  This event is part of a state-wide listening tour that the Advisory Council undertakes annually to get a pulse on the needs of Colorado's Small Business community.  Glenwood Springs small businesses, RSVP here.


May 10-11, 2018: Establishing Brand Clarity Certificate Course | Vail, CO

The Northwest Small Business Development Center (SBDC) NorthwestVail Centre and the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business have teamed up to offer "ESTABLISHING BRAND CLARITY," an interactive branding workshop for women business owners, decision makers, and entrepreneurs operating from mountain markets.

The Colorado Outdoor Industry Leadership Summit is hosting a regional mountain gathering on Friday, May 11 in Breckenridge, CO.  COILSx is organization and presented by the Mountain Outdoor Recreation Alliance, a group of passionate recreation leaders in the Colorado Rockies.

Vail Centre has partnered with Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration to bring a premier hospitality management program to the Vail Valley.  Understanding the day-to-day financial management of your organization is a vital ingredient to advancement in today’s competitive environment.  Whether or not you are a financial manager, the key to success as a hospitality professional is knowing how to budget and maximize operational efficiencies.  This course will focus on the application of financial-management concepts useful in analyzing hospitality operations.  Limited scholarships available.






June 17-22: Duke Nonprofit Management Certificate Program | Vail Valley, CO

The Duke University Nonprofit Management Intensive Track Program explores 8 key areas of nonprofit management, led by established practitioners and scholars within the nonprofit arena. Together, they address what it takes to rise above today’s challenges and become a successful nonprofit leader. This course is brought to the Vail Valley by Duke University in partnership with the Vail Centre.  Limited scholarships available.





July 2018 - April 2019: Women's Mastermind Community | Edwards, CO

The Vail Centre offers talent development programs for emerging and developing leaders. The primary benefit of these programs is learning to integrate your head (and intellect) with your heart (and meaningful purpose). The goal is to cultivate effective, ethical leaders who produce enduring results.  Female leaders, entrepreneurs, and executives are invited to experience the power of learning and mentoring through a close-knit, small group firsthand.


The first of twelve sessions will function as a 1-day retreat. During the retreat, members will connect more by sharing information about themselves. This event will be hosted in a place where participants can relax and focus on their purpose. In this safe space, the following items will be discovered: Lifelines, Values, Strengths, Calling Cards, Passions and Legacies. With this information, mastermind community members will discover their own purpose statements and how this can be integrated authentically into daily modes of being.  Spaces are limited to twelve participants.




July 24, 2018: Gear & Beer | Denver, CO


Free to the Public: Gear & Beer celebrates emerging outdoor, travel, adventure, and lifestyle brands for a cottage industry expo where brands will sell, demo, and showcase their products and services. Come shop from local vendors, grab a beer, listen to music, and enter for chances to win some swag!


Vendor Opportunities: Must be an outdoor, lifestyle, adventure, or similar industry brand to qualify. 10x10 booth to sell, demo, showcase, and activate! Tents, tables, chairs, etc. are not provided. 400-600 attendees from the general public and Outdoor Retailer attendees. Brands have the opportunity to work from Wayfinder Co-op coworking space during the week of Outdoor Retailer. 







September 12-13, 2018: Demystifying Entrepreneurship | Vail Valley, CO

The Vail Centre has initiated Short Courses to address the needs of mid-career professionals who want to expand their skills and improve their business acumen. Short Courses are typically one to three days and focus on a specific business challenges starting with entrepreneurship. These courses are researched based with a focus on critical thinking and are taught by recognized university faculty members from universities in Colorado and around the country.

Demystifying Entrepreneurship presented by the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business Deming Center for Entrepreneurship provides an introduction to entrepreneurship and is geared toward anyone launching their own business or improving their existing small business. Taught by Erick Mueller, an award-winning professor and Director of the Cross Campus Entrepreneurship Program at the Leeds School of Business, this two-day short course seeks to impart a framework and toolset that helps entrepreneurs develop sought-after products and services, avoid pitfalls and succeed at entrepreneurship.





September 12 + 14, 2018: Startup to Scale-up | Vail Valley, CO

StartUp to Scale-Up focuses on 2nd stage small businesses and organizations, specifically those looking or needing to shift out of their startup phase and into “what’s next”.  Participants will leave with an understanding of how to build and grow their concepts.  The program takes learned outcomes from the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business Deming Center for Entrepreneurship's Demystifying Entrepreneurship course (recommended prerequisite) and shifts from developing a successful startup toward organizational growth and advancement.

This program is designed for entrepreneurs that are interested in expanding thriving concepts.  Participants should be in a position to grow and scale their ideas.
